Number of years lived in Brisbane:
I am originally from England, but have lived in Queensland for more than 25 years, and now call Australia home. I moved to Brisbane 10 years ago and am enjoying my retirement in this beautiful city.
Favourite things about Brisbane:
Brisbane’s open-air culture and riverside dining experience are of course among my favourite things. I love the outdoors nature, and going for a walk along the river. Brisbane’s accessible public transport is also fantastic, and it is so easy to get around.
Favourite place in Brisbane:
Picking only a few places is hard, but I do love St John’s Cathedral for its breathtaking architecture. I also enjoy visiting GOMA, the Cube at QUT, and the Powerhouse.
Major Heritage Buildings, Penal Colony and Early Settlement History and photography.
I enjoy being a Brisbane Greeter because:
I really enjoy the chance to meet people who are open in their interests, enjoy travel and discovering new places. I like to share with them my passion and knowledge about Brisbane, and to welcome them to a city I am proud to call home. I also really enjoy learning more about Brisbane’s history and heritage, and forever expanding my knowledge.
Other Greeter Programs used and your experience:
I have used Greeter programs in New York, London and Paris. All were exceptional experiences; the opportunity to meet a local and be immersed immediately in local culture is fantastic.
Languages spoken: English, French and German.
Christopher was so friendly, enthusiastic, and passionate about his volunteering work. His attitude and service mindset were excellent. Thank you very much!
How wonderful to have a greet in Brisbane delivered in my own language (German) from Christopher. Danke (thank you)!
Thanks Christopher for your time and friendliness extended to me and my family. We thoroughly enjoyed our day with you and will recommend the service to others.
