Queensland Museum and Sciencentre
Extract from QM Media Release:
Queensland Museum and Sciencentre Visitor Services Manager Martie McConnell believes the program translates well for the visitor services staff, as it is all about taking the visitor experience to the next level.
"Although we are good at what we do... we can always be better! The more information we have the more likely we are to exceed our visitors' expectations".
Martie attended the face-to-face training with two team leaders and six visitor services officers in tow. The team will return to the museum armed with the know-how to guide the remaining 38 floor staff and 45 volunteers through the online modules.
Although Brisbane may already be seen as an approachable city with a "friendly" reputation, the interactive program is geared at encouraging participants to think about what makes Brisbane special and how they can share that with their visitors.
"The more information about Brisbane that I have, the easier it is for me to connect with a broader demographic of visitors and provide them with an exceptional experience," Martie said.

Tourism and Events Queensland
Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) participated in BWTW training as part of Brisbane's preparations as Host City for G20 2014.
"Forty TEQ members have now completed this program - what an enthusiastic response from the TEQ family! Official celebrations were held with the Brisbane Lord Mayor to formally acknowledge and congratulate every participant, which exceeded 1000 front line industry staff across the city and reached another 2000+ as G20 officials and volunteer participants. Proudly, TEQ has been a significant part of this incredible success."
