In May, the NRL Double Header – with the Brisbane Broncos facing Manly Warringah Sea Eagles and the North Queensland Cowboys taking on the Melbourne Storm – brings twice the action to Suncorp Stadium, while the St George Queensland Reds face their foes from the land of the rising sun when they take on Japan's Sunwolves.

In June, the Battle of the Codes pits the Qantas Wallabies against their old foes England and the Brisbane Lions against the Hawthorn Hawks – all on one huge night. Add a few Brisbane Broncos home games and the almighty State of Origin Game II into the mix, and it all adds up to one huge winter of sport in Brisbane.

Whether you’re a local or visiting to cheer on your team to victory, there is also loads to see and do pre and post-game. From a great steak and brews to the best of what’s going on around Suncorp Stadium and The Gabba, check out our suggestions to create the ultimate footy experience in Brisbane.
