Brisbane’s public transport system is a clean and green network of trains, ferries (CityCats) and buses that have been integrated so commuters can travel seamlessly between each service when using a go card.

Brisbane City Council offers free city loop buses around Brisbane's CBD, guided tours of Brisbane with the City Sights bus tours as well as a network of high-frequency buses that run daily between the Brisbane CBD and outer suburbs. There are also a number of private coach services operating in Brisbane and to Brisbane.

The Brisbane CityCat and ferry services are a favourite among the locals, and an enjoyable and handy way to get around Brisbane. Additionally, the red CityHopper ferry service allows you to rediscover Brisbane for free with ferries running every 30 minutes between 6am and midnight, seven days a week.

Brisbane has a user-friendly rail system that links to the majority of suburbs in the region. There are 10 train lines and 139 stations in the TransLink network, with the central hub located at Central Station in the Brisbane CBD. Queensland Rail also provides rail services to intrastate regions. They service the big population centres of the South East, connect the regions of the state, and take domestic and international tourists to some of Queensland’s world-famous locations.



Brisbane has many bikeways and bike paths for cyclists riding to work, cycling for fun or for fitness.
