Bridge to Brisbane Fun Run
Sunday Mail Suncorp Bridge to Brisbane Fun Run
The Sunday Mail Suncorp Bridge to Brisbane fun run is on Sunday, 7 September. Queensland's largest fun run, its 10km event starts from the Sir Leo Hielschler Bridge at Murarrie and follows a course along the Brisbane River to the Brisbane Showgrounds at Bowen Hills. The 5km run starts at the halfway point.
There will be no parking at the showgrounds; instead, you can park in designated areas at Murarrie and Hamilton, or at the designated bus stations along the Chermside, Eight Mile Plains and Chermside bus routes, where participants can catch a special Brisbane Transport bus.
10km Parking Areas
Area 1: The Metroplex centre at the corner of Lytton and Creek Rds, Murarrie (700m walk to start area).
Area 2: The Murarrie Sports Ground on Wynnum Rd (800m walk to the start area). After the race, you can catch a free train from the Brisbane Showgrounds station back to the Murarrie station. No shuttle buses will be returning to the 10km parking area. Catch the train from the Brisbane Showgrounds (formerly known as the RNA) platform back to the 10km parking area to view the timetable.
5km Parking Areas
You can park in the streets around the Hamilton industrial precinct to the east of Remora Rd, but shuttle buses will not run from these car-parking areas to the start of the 10km event. Also, access will be closed to Remora Rd via Kingsford Smith Drive while the 10km event is in progress. After the race, only the 5km participants can catch a free shuttle bus back to the 5km parking area (for the 10km parking area you will need to catch the train from the Brisbane Showgrounds).
