Redlands 48 Hours Itinerary
Check tide times before planning your two days in the Redlands so that you get the best possible experiences.
Visit Wellington Point at low tide so that you can do the 1km walk to King Island (where else can you walk to an island).
Have breakfast at Refuelled in Wellington Point or drive to Cleveland and chose from the many cafe’s in Bloomfield Street or at Raby Bay Harbour.
Board a yacht or catamaran at Raby Bay and set sail around Moreton Bay, perhaps to the secluded beach of Peel Island with Robinson Cruises, Brisbane Yacht Charters or Dick Whittington Tours or if you’re after more adventure head out in Moreton Bay with Redlands Kayak Tours where you will get up close and personal with the marine life.
Catch the ferry from Cleveland (Toondah Harbour) to North Stradbroke Island.
Drive straight to Amity Point where the dolphins come and play every evening on dusk.
Check into your comfortable architecturally designed holiday home, shack, apartment or camp site or perhaps you have time relax and with a cocktail in one hand and pool cue in the other play a game of outdoor pool at the Stradbroke Island Beach Hotel.
Dine out at Fishes at Point Lookout or the Look cafe where you will hear and see the waves crashing on the most beautiful beaches in Queensland.
Start your day early with the North Gorge Headland Walk at Point Lookout. The view along the walk is absolutely breathtaking as you look out over the ocean and pristine sands of the seemingly endless Home Beach. You can spot dolphins, turtles and manta rays year round, and humpback whales during migrating season (June to November).
On foot, in your own 4WD or with Straddie Kingfisher Tours experience the sensation of having the beach to yourself, with 32 km of unspoilt sand to explore. Or if adventure runs through your veins book in for sandboarding.
Do some retail therapy at Drift Handmade Treasures and indulge in some gelati with the best views at Point Lookout or visit Island Fruit Barn in Dunwich for a wonderful island experience and flavoursome organic food.
Catch a vehicle ferry back to Cleveland.
Squeeze in a day spa experience at Mt Cotton Body and Soul before heading across the road to Sirromet Winery for a wine tour or dine at Lurleens restaurant Thursday –Sunday (be sure to book).
Stay overnight at Mount Cotton Eco Cabins and have breakfast with the abundant birdlife in a relaxed, tranquil rainforest setting before heading back to Brisbane.
