The pelicans are perched like statues along the concrete pillars outside Bretts Wharf restaurant – their beaks, like their memories, are long and hark back to the days when this was a former shipping terminal. The Brisbane River gyrates to the westerly wind, and it is far to say Bretts Wharf co-owner Marilyn Domenech has been making a few ripples of her own in the city’s restaurant scene in the past three decades.
