Bribie Island's brand new Seaside Museum.  The exhibits show the past through contemporary eyes.  Three permanent displays, "More than a Skirmish" - the Matthew Flinders 1799 expedition, "Away from it all" - the remarkable life and art of Ian Fairweather, and "Hooked" - the story of fishing featuring the Bribie Island Amateur Fishing Association of Queensland's 1900s collection, will be ready for the opening.

The museum's location on the Bongaree foreshore takes advantage of magnificent Pumicestone Passage views and the building has been designed to work with its existing surroundings.

Museum visiting hours are 10am to 4pm, Thursdays and Fridays and 10am to 3pm Saturdays and Sundays. Entry is free.
