Housed in a former cornerstore, Billy Kart Kitchen is open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch, with dinner and drinks available on Friday nights. Conceived by TV chef and author Ben O'Donoghue and his wife Dee, the cafe pays homage to the billy karts that glided through Annerley in the 1950s and preserves the original building's cornerstore feel with fresh bread, milk and newspapers on offer. The menu is produce-driven and simple with delicious dishes such as Aussie Asian eggs with king prawns, bacon and chilli; chickpea, potato and cauliflower dosa, with cucumber raita and spicy relish; and sushi boards.

Open: Monday-Friday, 6.30am-5pm; Saturday-Sunday, 7am-2:30 pm; every second Friday open until late.
