735 Stanley St, WOOLLOONGABBA, QLD 4102
Woolloongabba's Chalk Hotel, built in 1889, has gone by many names, including The Railway and The Recovery. It was only in 2005 that it was renamed The Chalk to recognise its proximity to the Brisbane Cricket Ground. Not surprisingly, the pub is popular with sports fans.
Set over three levels, The Chalk has modern bars and trendy eateries. It is home to some of the city's best bartenders, so get them to serve up a selection of cocktails, premium beers and wines from around the globe. A great accompaniment to an afternoon beer is The Chalk's signature wood-fired pizzas.
The hotel is the perfect spot for fuelling up before a sporting event nearby at The Gabba, home of Australian rules and cricket.
