With every twist and turn through Brisbane's inner-city suburb of Fortitude Valley you'll discover something new. Friday

5pm – Check yo’self in

Tryp Hotel

To truly make the most of a weekend in Fortitude Valley you’ll need a base in the heart. May we suggest the trendy Tryp Hotel or exquisite Emporium Hotel as a spot to rest your head?

6.30pm – Hungry?

Chur Burger
Chur Burger

Better fuel up at Chur Burger, located on the ground floor of the Tryp Hotel. Hoe into the signature burger of crispy pork belly, chilli caramel, slaw and aioli. Throw in a side of buffalo wings with blue cheese mayo and you’re onto a winner. Want more burger options? 8pm – Catch a show at the Judith Wright Centre

11pm – Sink a night cap with supper

Saturday

9am – Breakfast of champions

11am – Laneway discoveries 

Winn Lane, Fortitude Valley

Didn’t think Brisbane could deliver on casual-cool laneways? Think again. Fortitude Valley is home to a number of hip lanes full of cute boutiques, bars and diners. 1pm – Pit stop

Gerard's Bistro

Put a stop to the grumble with a delicious bite at Gerard’s Bistro. Order the blackmore wagyu with white turnip puree, fried cauliflower with tahini, and Bekaa wings for the ultimate lunch break. 

3pm – Spiderman, eat your heart out 

Rocksports Indoor Climbing

Fancy yourself as a bit of a daredevil who likes to live life on the edge? Rocksports Indoor Climbing will have you right in your element, dangling eight metres from the ground on more than 100 climbs. Challenge yourself while having fun – and best of all, no experience is necessary! 

5pm – Raise your glass sky high

Brisbane’s almost year-round balmy weather means we can enjoy the alfresco lifestyle longer than our chilly southern neighbours. Lucky for you, Fortitude Valley is the perfect place to do just that, with a selection of rooftop bars and beer gardens serving classy cocktails and boutique brews. Head up to Eleven for outstanding city views with a sunset backdrop. 

7pm – Time to dine

LongTime

Lobster coconut tumeric curry. It’s all you need in life and you’ll find it at LONgTIME. This popular Thai fusion restaurant often has a waitlist, so prop yourself up at the bar – any excuse will do! 9pm – The best bar none

If you’re after sophisticated venues for a tipple, try The Bowery, Savile Row or The Apo. All three cater to an older crowd and offer outstanding cocktail and wine lists with an elegance and charm not found at other popular spots. 

11pm – Party ‘til the wee hours

Want to party like it’s 1999? The Valley is your nightclub hotspot with everything from live music venues, to clubs with DJs hitting the decks spinning every genre of music you could think of. Try Alfred & Constance for tiki-themed fun, or classic Brisbane institution Cloudland, where there’s more bars than you can poke a stick at.

Sunday

9am – Recharge your batteries

Breakfast at Campos Coffee

Kick-start the day with fresh pressed juice, smooth coffee and seasonal eats at Campos or hit up Harvey’s on James St for ricotta-buttermilk pancakes with caramelised banana and honeycomb butter.  

11am – Pamper yourself

Practically next to Harvey’s you’ll find Endota Day Spa, a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of daily life where beautiful products and treatments will have you feeling hydrated and replenished and set for the day ahead. 

1pm – Shop 'til you drop

We love any excuse to splash some cash on new threads, and Fortitude Valley’s hip stores and local designer boutiques are the ideal place to do just that. From the precinct’s major shopping hub of James St, to smaller laneways with unique finds – there’s something to suit all tastes and budgets.

I Heart Brownies located in Bakery Lane have you sorted. Branch out from the norm and try a Nutella or cherry-filled brownie. Got a gluten intolerance? This is your idea of bakery heaven, with every brownie made sans gluten.

5pm – Sunday sesh

At Sixes and Sevens is iconic among local crowds for its ability to rock a Sunday sesh like no other. Hordes of beautiful people gather in the tiny courtyard to mingle and munch on bar snacks, share plates and hearty pub meals.
