Bellevue Homestead and Vineyard
Vine Road, COOMINYA, QLD 4311
Bellevue Homestead is a living reminder of the early days of Queensland settlement, when large sheep and cattle properties dominated the pastoral scene in the Brisbane Valley, 100km from Brisbane.
The main house, governess's residence, school and farm buildings of the homestead were built in the 1870s and the guesthouse in 1903-04. These buildings were superbly restored to their original condition at the turn of the century.
Visit the homestead for morning or afternoon tea, or stay for lunch and a tour of the heritage-listed homestead. Visit the vineyard and buy Riversands wines from the cellar door. Guests also can order wine with their morning and afternoon teas, lunches or dinners.
The guided tour begins with background information about the selection of the original Wivenhoe Run and Bellevue Station, and when the slab huts, governess's residence, family home and guesthouse were built. The tour covers details of the buildings' design and materials.
