For parents looking to stay in shape, it can be tricky finding time for yourself. Minutes you’d like to spend on the treadmill are often spent shopping, making dinner, or carting little ones to the playground.

Ride a bike
Perfect for kids learning to ride without training wheels (and parents re-learning a thing or two about balance), a cycle down South Bank’s Clem Jones Promenade will have you all geared up for a family day out. Even better? Once you’re on a roll, you can make a pit stop at one of South Bank’s ice-cream spots!

Go for a swim
Exercise that you’ll enjoy and it wears the kids out? Water you waiting for? The Boat Pool is the perfect spot if you’re fishing for family-friendly activities. Swim a few laps, play some pool-based games, and watch the kiddies splash around at South Bank’s Aquativity.

Remember: you can get creative with those exercise routines! Don’t love running on the treadmill? Play hide and seek with the kids around the Riverside Green playground. Want to spend time with your family instead of your PT? Swap a session for Frisbee on the Rainforest Green!

Take a walk

With plenty of walkways and spots to explore, South Bank exercise can be a walk in the park – literally. Stroll through South Bank’s Arbour walkways with partners, parents and little ones. Your pups can even tag along, provided they’re on a leash and don’t enter the food areas.

Be a little adventurous
Bored of the same old routine? Energise your workouts with a bonding session just around the corner from South Bank! For families with kids aged 8 and over, Riverlife’s kayaking and rock-climbing sessions will have you paddling up the Brisbane River or climbing the Kangaroo Point Cliffs.
