It’s no secret that South Bank is a bustling events hub – there’s plenty to see and do, no matter when you visit. Year-round events in the Parklands include the Collective Markets, the Young Designers Markets and City Sounds, while Little Days Out (South Bank’s free children’s program) and Sunday Sessions on the Green are on for most of the year.

There’s also annual events like Australia Day in January, Regional Flavours in July, Christmas in Brisbane in December, New Year’s Eve celebrations and plenty of festivals in-between. Check out our comprehensive event guide to see what’s on when you’re in town.

Where to stay
South Bank has two hotels in the precinct – the Mantra and the Rydges, which are both located on Grey Street. If you want more choice, our tip is to stay at nearby suburbs (which are only a 15 minute walk away) including the CBD, South Brisbane and West End.
