kuril dhagun

State Library of Queensland, SOUTH BANK, QLD 4101

Images

This indigenous knowledge centre is the first of its kind in any Australian state library.

Learn from or create with an Aboriginal elder, listen to an indigenous language or take part in a workshop in the Talking Circle.

The centre draws its meaning from kuril, the native marsupial found on the State Library site near Kurilpa Point on the Brisbane River, and dhagun, meaning earth/place/country. A literal translation of the name is "kurils place".
