Busking in Brisbane
The inner-city streets of Brisbane are filled with unique and entertaining buskers. You can busk wherever you like in Brisbane, except in the Queen Street Mall and South Bank.
If you want to busk in the Queen Street Mall you must first gain a busking licence. Busking licences are only granted after a formal audition process through Brisbane City Council. For information on audition times and to apply, please visit the Brisbane City Council website.
If you would like to apply for a short term permit at South Bank, please fill out the short term busking permit form and submit it to [email protected]. Please also note that Brisbane Marketing’s decision on the allocation of busking licenses is final and no correspondence or comment will be entered into. Annual Permits have already been allocated for 2017.
Applications for annual busking permits for South Bank are now open until Sunday 29th October 2017. Audition details will be confirmed by email to successful applicants by 5:00 PM Monday 30th October 2017. Walk-ins will not be accepted during the auditions.
Please note if you are unable to attend the auditions hosted, unfortunately we are not in a position to make exceptions.
Please complete the annual busking application form and submit with any supporting documentation to [email protected]
Please note that there are limited busking areas in South Bank Parklands. Brisbane Marketing’s decision on the allocation of busking licenses is final and no correspondence or comment will be entered into.
