Check into Brisbane's seven brand-new hotels
What’s better than the crisp feeling of fresh sheets? Maybe a fresh hotel.
Brisbane has seven brand spanking new hotels for you to test that theory out. Book in, throw off your shoes, fluff those pillows and order room service.

Adding a whopping 368 new rooms to the CBD, the brand-new Ibis Styles is big, bold and perfect for all travellers wanting a central location. Each room features a bright, pattern printed wall behind the bed and sleek wood furnishings.

This brand-new 208-room property has been called a "show" piece hotel. Why? Well, because it overlooks the Brisbane Showgrounds and is themed around the Ekka, Brisbane’s annual agricultural show. Bringing a slice of country to the city, the newest Rydges features pictures of the family-friendly show, show bag-themed snacks and animal-printed cushions. Drop into Six Acres Restaurant for a bite, or The Paddock Bar for a drink.

As expected, the new Alex Perry Hotel is impeccably chic. Named after the international fashion icon, the 140-room hotel has a gold, black and white theme with luxe fittings, linen and custom toiletries. The standout is the rooftop with 280-degree views over Brisbane City.

This year Spicers Balfour expanded to almost double capacity with eight new luxury suites created in an art deco building two doors down from the original Queenslander. A temporary address in one of Brisbane’s hippest suburbs, make these suites your home away from home.
The Johnson, Art Series, Spring Hill
Brisbane’s first Art Series hotel has opened, named after artist Michael Johnson. Two of his bright and abstract works live in the foyer with art prints by Johnson in every other room. The hotel boasts 87 self-contained suites, two penthouses and a 50m pool designed by Michael Klim. Downstairs the restaurant Tumbling Stone serves a full menu and killer cheese board.

Spring Hill is where it’s at these days. The suburb that hugs the northern end of the city has welcomed the brand new Mantra Richmont, a sleek but funky hotel just 2km from the CBD heart. Be sure to book dinner at the Kennigo Social Restaurant – set in an 1875-built Queenslander home, it’s not your average hotel bistro.
Swiss-Belhotel, South Brisbane
Located directly opposite the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital, this 134-room hotel (with seven suites tailored for the physically challenged) will be well utilised by hospital visitors and those wishing to explore the South Bank area.
