Brisbane Bicycle Tour

Brisbane By Bicycle

Brisbane by Bicycle offers tours for locals, made by locals. These fun, easy-paced adventures wind through South Bank, New Farm and Teneriffe with a picnic lunch in the middle. They even shout you a beer at an iconic local bar afterwards – a perfect way to refresh and restore some of the calories you burned.

It’s not lazy – it’s smart exploring. eBike Hire Brisbane is just minutes from the Bicentennial Bikeway and is the best way to explore the riverside on two wheels. They even deliver bikes straight to you.

On the water

The river is central to the city – and not just because it runs right through the middle of everything.

River City Cruises

River City Cruises

The original sightseeing river cruise, River City Cruises runs hour-and-a-half guided tours with entertaining and informative commentary past some of Brisbane’s most iconic riverside locations. Tours depart at 10.30am and midday every day and you can even get a coffee onboard.

Kookaburra Showboat Cruises

Step back in time with the iconic Kookaburra paddle-wheelers as they cruise down the river for lunch or dinner experiences. Spoil yourself with smooth jazz, indulge yourself in high tea or marvel at the sparkling city lights from the kind of boat that’s watched the buildings climb higher and higher.

Mirimar Koala & River Cruises

Mirimar Koala and River Cruises are the perfect way to combine a day on the water with koala cuddling. Travelling to and from Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, you’ll sail down the western side of the river past the evolving West End after boarding and departing from the Cultural Centre.

Slide into a kayak or balance on a stand-up paddle board with Riverlife as you inevitably try to impress the beautiful person you’ve invited out on an adventurous date. Operating hours are subject to availability but these tours run most weekends and during school holidays.

Do it yourself

Take some initiative and guide yourself through some of the most iconic precincts in Brisbane.

The Cultural Centre concourse

Read and relax with a coffee in kuril dhagan at the State Library before you tackle one of the bigger museums. The Queensland Museum and Sciencentre is the best way to get hands-on with history and practical science while QAGOMA splits traditional and modern art across two venues – explore both for an up-to-date cultural conversation piece.

Fortitude Valley laneways

Wander through Winn Lane and Bakery Lane and indulge in specialty coffee, craft beer and international spirits before meandering down buzzing James Street. Something's always changing in this raw yet sophisticated suburb.

Botanic Gardens – both of them

Soak up fresh air and sunshine in one of the city’s two Botanic Gardens. Get that river breeze up at Garden’s Point and see if you can get a degree by osmosis. Otherwise, breathe deep the mountain air at Mt Coot-tha and wander through the Tropical Display Dome. Bring your camera for this one – #brisbaneanyday

South Bank sights

Meander along the concourse at South Bank for a river breeze complemented by the dizzying glint of CBD skyscrapers just across the water. Pose by the B-R-I-S-B-A-N-E sign, take a dip at Street’s Beach and just generally have a good time in the open air.
