An eye‑opening theatre performance that highlights the history, beauty and vibrancy of Aboriginal culture in Brisbane can be found at Spirits of the Red Sand. The 2.5‑hour evening show features a roving performance of song, dance and storytelling followed by a 3‑course dinner. From start to finish, the powerful storyline will take you back in time and connect you to 60,000 years of Aboriginal culture 🖤💛❤️
Proud Quandamooka woman and artist @delvene_cockatoo_collins_art creates and expresses through artwork the stories of her family’s lived experiences while living on Minjerribah – North Stradbroke Island. Delvene’s artwork, handprinted homewares, sculptures and ceramics are featured in her retail store and studio in Goompi – Dunwich. Head over to North Stradbroke Island and browse through Delvene’s studio from 9:30 am – 1 pm for your chance to immerse yourself in local First Nations art and history.
Nyanda Tours invites visitors out for a guided tour by members of the Jagera people to Nudgee Waterhole Reserve in Brisbane for Aboriginal storytelling, smoke ceremony, bush food tasting, weaving and demonstrations. Through hands‑on experiences, traditions and customs, feel a strong connection to First Nations culture and understand the significance of the waterholes to the Jagera people. Tours operate Monday to Friday from 10 am to 1 pm and by appointment on Saturday and Sunday.
