Wander through the treetops on the Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk
No need to be an experienced hiker to adventure along the Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk. This rainforest walking experience is only 1.5km long and is suitable for all ages, big and small. Follow our journey as we wander through the rainforest, looking out onto the canopies of Tamborine Mountain.
The walk departs from the Eco Gallery and immediately takes you along the Skywalk Bridge with views of the lush rainforest. With over 200 different tree species, only two of these trees shed their leaves in winter, which means the rainforest remains evergreen throughout the year. This is a haven for a variety of wildlife, including everyone’s favourite Australian native, the koala. Keep your eyes peeled for these cuddly friends that call the rainforest home.
Enjoy walking at a slow pace and stop to read the various signs, as they explain the history of the rainforest and point out particular features of the ancient, towering trees.
Make your way along the path to the Cedar Creek platform and then up and onto the Skywalk Cantilever. Here you are suspended 30m above the creek and canopy floor, truly making you part of the treetops.
The walk takes approximately 45 minutes at a leisurely pace so finishing back at the Eco Gallery means only one thing – coffee. Take a seat by the edge and enjoy coffee and scones while you take in the Tamborine rainforest views once more.
