things to do for kidults

18 JANUARY 2023

Bring back playtime, we say. And we’re not the only ones. Release your inner child and get around these epic activities to do around Brisbane. This is a list of fun things to do for the wise in years but young at heart.

01. Go quad biking on Moreton Island/Mulgumpin

The third largest sand island in the world, Moreton Island/Mulgumpin is not only a breath-taking destination, but is jam-packed with adventure activities for all ages. From quad biking and sand tobogganing to snorkelling and scenic helicopter rides, Tangalooma Island Resort’s team of fun-lovers will keep you entertained day and night!

02. Glide through the treetops

Thunderbird Park is the perfect location to get your adrenaline pumping. Zip line along huge flying foxes through the scenic forest of Mt Tamborine or challenge yourself with more than 100 treetop challenges to choose from at this ultimate outdoor adventure park.

03. Live life in the fast lane

There’s nothing like the need for speed to spark some friendly competition. Jump into a go-kart at Slideways in Eagle Farm or Kingston Park Raceway in the City of Logan and race around the long straights and fast bends of each track.

04. Take a swig while you tee up a swing

You don’t need to spend all day in the heat to tee up, head to Holey Moley and enjoy an 18-hole mini golf course with a cocktail in hand. Sink balls, drink beers and compete against friends on the insanely themed holes. It’s loads of fun.

05. Bowl away the competition

When was the last time you went bowling? Organise a small group of friends and head to Strike Bowling in the Wintergarden. It features 12 bowling lanes and afterwards you can kick on at one of The City’s many great bars or stay and play laser tag, pool or perform karaoke.

06. Put on your detective hat for the day

Gather your smartest friends and head to Escape Hunt in West End, Exitus at Strike Bowling in Wintergarden or Fox in a Box on Edward St. The challenge is to solve the crimes and escape the rooms before the time is up.

07. Head to the arcade

Timezone is long gone but Funhouse is next to the Uptown Event Cinemas. Drop some coin and make sure you explore Netherworld at the bottom of Brunswick Street for the perfect combo of beers and nostalgia. B.Lucky and Sons have a comprehensive selection of arcade games on offer including basketball, boxing, car racing and more. The neon lights will draw you in and the signature alcoholic bubble tea will keep you coming back to try all the flavours.

08. Zone in on each other

Visit Brisbane’s home of laser tag at Laserzone. Laserzone has a world class multi-level (yes, you read that correctly) laser arena. While you’re there check out the bumper cars and retro arcade, your inner kid can thank us later.

09. Ready, set, climb

Chalk up your hands and head to Urban Climb in West End or Rocksports in Fortitude Valley for indoor rock climbing. If you're to challenge yourself, then the Kangaroo Point Cliffs can offer the real thing – the view at the top isn't bad either.
