The Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA)

QAGOMA is a single institution located across two adjacent riverside buildings in South Bank’s Cultural Precinct. QAGOMA holds a collection of more than 16,000 works of historical, modern and contemporary art, and stages a dynamic program of Australian and international exhibitions. The hub is home to the Children's Art Centre which collaborates on interactive artworks with leading artists from around the world, and the Australian Cinémathèque, the only dedicated cinema facility in an Australian art museum.

Phillip Bacon Galleries
Born from the encouragement of artists Lawrence Daws, Margaret Olley, Charles Blackman and Robert Dickerson, the gallery was established in 1974 and is now renowned for the depth of its stockroom and for exhibiting many of the country’s most celebrated artists.
Mitchell Fine Art

Formerly Muk Muk Fine Art, the converted industrial space is an exciting venue in the Brisbane art scene. The annual exhibition calendar presents a range of high-calibre art from artists including George Gittoes, Jeff Makin, Joel Rhea, Geoff Todd, Bernard Ollis and Margaret Loy Pula.
Jan Murphy Gallery

With more than 20 years in the business, this hotspot is dedicated to the exhibition and sale of contemporary art of the highest calibre and features a varied selection of local and interstate Australian art by both established and emerging artists.
FireWorks Gallery
FireWorks Gallery is known for exhibiting some of Australia’s favourite contemporary artists. The gallery’s exhibition program strives to present artworks by indigenous and non-indigenous artists alongside each other.
REDSEA Gallery

REDSEA Gallery Brisbane represents artists and sculptors from across Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia. Originally established in Singapore, REDSEA Gallery opened in Brisbane in 2008 and inspires visitors to discover unique international contemporary art.
Artisan
Artisan presents, promotes and celebrates excellence in craftsmanship and design. With everything from furniture to jewellery, this is the place to appreciate cutting-edge design. Artisan's commercial outlet M (ART) is a must for some unique Queensland art.
Edwina Corlette
Edwina Corlette worked with Jan Murphy before opening her own space. The gallery exhibits contemporary painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, installation and digital art from Australia and the Asia Pacific. Keep your eye out for this gallery’s artist talks and offsite programs.
Institute of Modern Art (IMA)

The IMA has been a leading independent space for 40 years. The gallery concentrates on commissioning new works by Australian and international artists at pivotal points in their practices, as well as shedding light on underrepresented artists. Check out its fabulous artist talks.
The City
QUT Art Museum
Comprising more than 2000 objects, the collection includes paintings, sculptures, decorative arts and works on paper, chiefly by Australian artists. The collection has a history of a strong and adventurous commitment to contemporary art, with the majority of works dating from the 1960s onwards.
West End
Metro Arts

Championing all contemporary art forms, Metro Arts exhibits both performance and visual art. Check out their new digs at 111 Boundary Street in West End (in the West Village Precinct) and take a closer look at experimental boundary-pushing exhibitions and performance.
Paddington
Lethbridge Gallery
Lethbridge Gallery is owned and run by artist Brett Lethbridge and specialises in highly detailed and technically outstanding paintings from a group of Australian artists.
Highgate Hill
Onespace Gallery
Operating as a shopfront for contemporary art and design, Onespace Gallery showcases the works from established local and Australian artists including Nicola Moss, Sebastian Moody, Mandy Ridley and many others.
Regional galleries
Ipswich Art Gallery, Ipswich
With more than 100,000 visitors a year, the gallery is one of the most popular regional galleries in Australia. It presents a dynamic program of exhibitions and heritage displays with complementary workshops, performances and even a permanent interactive children’s gallery.
Redland Art Gallery, Redlands

With two locations in neighbouring bayside suburbs, Cleveland and Capalaba, Redland Art Gallery features six spaces across the two locations and specialises in works that look to define a Redlands' cultural identity.
Live at The Centre, Scenic Rim
Built as part of major renovations to the Beaudesert Shire Hall in 2007, the gallery, designed by Cox Raynor Architects, includes soaring atriums and over 60 running metres of hanging space of touring and locally developed exhibitions.
Caboolture Regional Art Gallery, Moreton Bay

Check out the gallery’s four outstanding exhibition spaces. The Main gallery hosts major local and touring exhibitions; the Long gallery offers boutique exhibitions of paintings and photography; the Focus gallery is a dynamic multimedia space; and the Hub gallery showcases developing local artists.
Redcliffe City Art Gallery, Moreton Bay
The Redcliffe City Art Gallery is an outstanding public gallery with its roots firmly planted in the cultural history of the region. Through both local and touring exhibitions, the gallery offers visitors a unique perspective of the Redcliffe peninsula and the Moreton Bay region.
Lockyer Valley Art Gallery, Lockyer Valley

Featured within the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre at Lake Apex, Gatton, the art gallery provides an exhibition space for local and visiting artists, with displays changing each month.
Logan Art Gallery, Logan City
Established in 1995, the Logan Art Gallery celebrates the diverse practices of visual artists, craft workers and designers. Exhibitions feature touring exhibitions and local artists and often are accompanied by a range of free talks, events and practical workshops.
