MELT Beauty Pageant 2018 | Cabaret | 18 May

The showstopper event, the MELT Beauty Pageant returns again to crown this year’s most gorgeous drag queen, drag king or trans beauty. The outrageous contestants battle it out across three categories: Graceful Glamourzons, Tremendous Talent and Costume with a Message, all vying for the ultimate crown, MELT Beauty.

Following this event, boogie on with the glamorous stars from the Beauty Pageant as the official (and free) opening night, the MELT After Dark Party, takes over the venue.

A contemporary pop rock LGBTI+ musical, Bare follows a group of high school students at catholic boarding school grappling with their sexuality. While being taught to repress their feelings, Peter and Jason have fallen in love, but Jason, a popular athlete, fears losing it all if he is discovered to be gay. With a sung through score, youthful energy, heart pounding lyrics, and an utterly honest look at the dangers of baring your soul, and the consequences of continuing to hide – get prepared to be blown away.

In his new book, comedian, writer and actor Robert Webb explores the nature of masculinity, his relationships, the lessons we learn as sons and daughters, and the understanding that sometimes you aren’t the Luke Skywalker of your life – you’re actually Darth Vader. Join Webb as he reflects on his life and the absurd expectations of boys with writer Benjamin Law.
