Gelato Messina, South Brisbane

Across 200sqm of floor space you’ll find three counters filled with 40 flavours of colourful gelato (including five rotating weekly specials), timber shelving filled with its signature gelato cakes, and a classroom off to one side. Our pick from the standard 35 flavours? Well, we’re yet to try them all but the salted caramel and coffee is a winner, the macadamia crunch is something else, and the salted coconut sorbet with mango salsa is surprisingly rich and hits the spot. 

Milani House of Gelato, Ascot

With more than 30 flavours to choose from, Milany serves up a culinary masterpiece. Each menu item is handmade so you can be sure that the Italian gelato is of quality. With no preservatives or artificial colours, Milany is the perfect place to take the family. 

Ungermann Brothers, Ipswich

Ungermann Brothers Ice cream

MasterChef runner-up Ben Ungermann has gone back to his roots and opened an ice-cream parlour with his brother in a heritage building in Ipswich. Expect crazy, unusual flavours like pumpkin seed oil, lavender and honey, coffee cardamom, and even roasted garlic. Grab a scoop or a tasting plate and soak up the 1950s vibes.

La Macelleria, Teneriffe, West End & Coorparoo Square

La Macelleria serves up authentic Italian gelato, sorbet, gelato shakes, espresso, and gelato cakes. The menu is filled with Italian classics and unique Australian-influenced creations – sure to suit any gelato craving. The ice-cold treat is made fresh every day, and on Monday nights you can even learn to make your own.

Lick Ice Cream

One of Brisbane's most loved ice-cream producers, Lick! have now got two stores in Graceville and Morningside, much to the delight of locals. The Lick! team has created the iconic Ekka Strawberry Sundae for the past seven years and provides restaurant-quality ice-cream to some of Brisbane's favourite dining venues.

With more than 200 flavours in their reportoire, Gelato Cremona will surely get you excited with each visit. Using only the best equipment and ingredients, the gelati sold here has gained a great reputation in Brisbane. 

Ruby the Little Red Ice Cream Van, various locations

Keep your eyes peeled for this classic English ice cream van as it makes its way around Brisbane. Everything is made onboard using an Italian Carpigiani ice-cream machine, serving super whipped soft serves as an old-school ice-cream treat.

Miss Sophia's Gelateria, Kedron

Add a bit of fun and fantasy into your sweet treat experience at Miss Sophia's. The space is cute and colourful with a feature wall covered in fruit illustrations and pastel furniture reminiscent of old school ice cream parlours. Expect rotating flavours, brownie sundaes, ultimate shakes and even a chocolate fountain that can cover your ice cream with melted chocolate. 

Ciao Gelato, Nundah

Find classic Italian gelato with an Australian twist in the heart of Nundah. Treat yourself to classic flavours such as milk chocolate, salted caramel and pistachio or opt for something different like scorched peanut butter, fudge brownie or caramel ginger. Milano Gelateria, Stones Corner

No longer do we need to travel to Caloundra for delicious Milano Gelateria as it has opened a store at Stones Corner. The award-winning homemade ice-cream and sorbet is to die for and will have you coming back for more. Got a party to cater for? Try one of the ice-cream cakes, where you can choose the flavours you'd like layered. 

Double Good, Eat Street Northshore

We're sippin' on something fruity from the Double Good van at Eat Street Nortshore. A gelato-filled fruit is healthy right? We like to think so, which means we can devour a range of desserts from here and not feel guilty. Options include mango soft gelato served in a juicy Queensland mango; mango, pineapple and coconut gelato served in half a pineapple and watermelon gelato served in a slice of watermelon, just to name a few.

Sugo Mi, Bulimba 

Just step down the alleyway next to Sugo Mi pizzeria, to find real Italian gelato! With flavours such as Ferrero Rocher, tiramisu and caramelised fig and ginger you won’t be disappointed. Share your Sugo Mi experience with others with its take-home packs.

Nom Nom Natural Gelato, Bulimba

Enjoy gelato classics such as vanilla bean, chocolate, pistachio or some fun concoctions such as apple pie and gingerbread made with popular Maleny Dairy Milk. There are also dairy-free, vegan and gluten-free options. Nom Nom Natural Gelato is a family-owned business with all gelato made fresh onsite. 

Chocolate Komberry Co, Eat Street Northshore

Do yourself a favour and get down to Eat Street Northshore to try one of the famous ice cream conuts from Chocolate Komberry Co. Not only are they decadently delicious but also insanely aesthetic and 'Instagrammable'. Cult favourites include the Golden Gaytime conut, Nutella conut and the unicone. 

Oceanic Gelato, North Stradbroke Island

After spending the day in the sun, Oceanic Gelato is the perfect place to cool down and enjoy a sugary treat. With flavours such as passionfruit cream, dragon fruit and lychee, chocolate peanut butter brownie, and many more, Oceanic Gelato is a one-stop-shop to satisfy every ice-cream lover's cravings.
