Queensland Cruising Yacht Club

The Queensland Cruising Yacht Club operates on Cabbage Tree Creek, right between the Boondall Wetlands and the entrance to Moreton Bay. Easy access in and out of a well-marked channel guide you straight into the Bay itself. The club hosts signature events like the Surf to City Yacht Race from Southport to Brisbane and organises a year-round program for sailors of all salts.   

Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron

The Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron hosts itself in a beautiful bayside venue, with spectacular views over the Manly Harbour. Its membership options cover all kinds of sailors and certification courses will get out on the water with a private skip in just a few weeks. It also encourage sailing volunteers if you want to really learn the ropes.

Every Wednesday, weather permitting, enthusiastic yachties escape to the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron for a sail around Green Island. Registrations are taken at the RQ bar at noon and sailors can join a crew for free if you’ve never done it before.

Robinson Cruises

Operating out of Raby Bay, Robinson Cruises offers the perfect couples’ escape in Moreton. Board a luxurious yacht and cruise the Marine Park on this relaxing three-hour journey, complete with a gourmet cheese platter, a bottle of bubbly and tea and coffee. Three cabins, two bathrooms and a full galley are on board so you can be as private or as social as you like. Each trip maxes out at three sets of couples.

Southern Cross Yachting

Also harboured in Manly, Southern Cross Yachting offer the largest selection of charter yachts and sailing courses in Moreton Bay. Its boats range from 36 to 50 feet and they supply a skipper or instructor for a day with clients and staff or friends and family. Learn to captain the whole thing or hire a holiday vessel and escape onto the water.

Fully crewed charters for your special occasion are the specialty of Sail Away Yacht Charters. Let them lend you a hand with sailing the yacht or, if you’d prefer, just sit back and relax. South Brisbane Sailing Club is based out of Orleigh Park in West End and is part of Brisbane’s sporting history, having been formed in 1903. The club sails on the Brisbane River and offers a Sailing School course close to the city though it’s backlogged with students. Sailing season opens in September and membership starts at $20. 

Dick Whittington Yacht

Alan and his crew will do hard the work while you relax in the salt air and sunshine aboard the luxurious 45-footer Dick Whittington. Discover the hidden treasures dotted through the Moreton Bay islands while you swim and snorkel about the crystal clear waters’ coral reefs. You’ll even be treated to a catered lunch, with first-class service up to 50.

Departing from Newport Marina, they’ll sail you around Moreton Bay aboard the luxurious vessel from Monday to Friday, weather permitting.
