Shop local: homegrown designers and stores in the CBD

If you love to shop local, you’re in luck. From fashion (for the ladies and the gents) to jewellery to homewares, the City boasts a range of stores brought to you by Brisbane locals.

Maiocchi Adelaide St

The beautiful Brisbane Arcade is home to a number of local and independent labels. Darb Bridal Couture creates designs for your special day inspired by old-world opulence and 1950s Dior styles. Ensuring that women look their absolute best on any occasion, Irma J Smith House of Fashion specialises in tailor-made daywear, evening wear and bridal garments. Tengdahl features timeless designs from leisure to evening wear thanks to Julie Tengdahl, whose aim is to create fashion for Brisbane women, made by Brisbane women.

Stones provides uncompromised jewellery, offering a range of diamond set jewellery, rings, and wedding bands. Marvel at the craftsmanship of the jewelry on offer, which is manufactured right in their Brisbane Arcade store. Since 1970, this Brisbane-based family company focuses on providing a reputation of service, quality, and workmanship.

Just outside the arcade along Adelaide St, Brisbane brand Maiocchi showcases designer Deanne Mayocchi’s love of Japanese fabrics, natural fibres and traditional arts and crafts techniques.

In the Wintergarden, Felicity Boevink Millinery provides exquisite bespoke millinery, using the finest materials. These bespoke masterpieces are hand-made using traditional and modern millinery techniques.

Wander through Tattersall's Arcade and explore Optiko’s unique and eclectic collection of eyewear. Optiko offers a premium mix of new and vintage eyewear, which is sourced globally. Some of their cult labels include Cartier, Oscar Magnusson, Thom Brownie, and many more.

Brisbane Arcade by Mitchell Talbot

The Brisbane Arcade is the place to go for independent jewellers. We are all guilty of walking through the gallery and dreaming about that beautiful ring in the window on our finger. Many of the stores in the arcade are independently owned, adding a unique touch to that special piece.

A father and son-owned business with over 65 years’ experience between them, Ashley Douglas specialises in custom designs where jewellery is designed, manufactured and finished instore. Specialising in modern designer engagement rings, Bradley Jewellery involves its clients in the creation process from the first sketch to the finished piece. Contemporary yet timeless, Details Designer Jewellery’s offerings are handmade creations by Italian designer Gianni Frisoni. For a full list of jewellers in the Arcade, visit the website

Tucked up on level 4 of 180 Queen Street (above Country Road), you can find Diamondport. This hidden gem specialises in GIA certified diamonds and offers high quality diamonds to help you to design the perfect engagement ring.

Just across the way in Wintergarden is Anthony’s Fine Jewellery, a family-owned designer and jeweller with over 30 years’ experience in Queensland. Discover family-owned and operated Lannah Dunn Fine Jewellery in Tattersall's Arcade, which offers genuine fine antique jewellery and modern pieces.

The Cloakroom

Along Edward St, The Cloakroom is a dedicated men’s boutique specialising in tailor-made clothing and effects. Founded in 2007 in Brisbane, the store is now a highly sought-after menswear label in both Australia and Canada.

Since opening in 2006, Double Double on Albert St has become one of Brisbane’s premier menswear boutiques, with a carefully curated collection of both local and international labels. Hidden inside the Blocksidge & Ferguson arcade on Adelaide St, CONTRA focuses on curating both new and established local and international high-end labels for men.
