Do you know your neighbour? Neighbours are an important social connection. Strong relationships between neighbours encourages cohesive communities that support one another.
In Know your neighbour, participating artists examine ideas surrounding friendship, social connection, community and civic responsibility. Who are we and who are the people we live our lives alongside? What does it mean to be a good neighbour, not just in a local context but also further abroad? As communities diversify and globalisation reduces the distance between one another, our understanding of being a ‘good’ neighbour is shifting. This exhibition asks artists and viewers alike to consider their connections to their neighbourhood, community and country.
