Welcome to Moreton Island

A tropical island paradise just 75 mins from Brisbane, Moreton Island / Mulgumpin is for the adventure seekers - renowned for its crystal-clear blue waters brimming with marine life and its steep, sweeping sand dunes beckoning to be explored.

Accessible by passenger and car ferry, Moreton Island is home to the iconic Tangalooma Wrecks, a group of 15 ships sunk in 1963 to create a break wall for small boats dropping by. Today the wrecks are home to an assortment of coral, and tropical fish, with regular visits from turtles and dugongs.

Explore the island on a day trip with a wide range of tours departing daily from Brisbane, or why not stay on island time a little longer at the Tangalooma Island Resort with accommodation ranging from hotel rooms, family suites and beachfront villas.
