An exhibition at the Redland Museum during March, April and May celebrates the career of Prima Ballerina, Lisa Bolte.
Enjoy a visit to the exhibition which will feature a collection of Costumes and memorabilia from The Australian Ballet archive.
Lisa spent her youth in the Redlands where her father Max developed his business, Bolte’s Landscape Supply and Nursery, in Thornlands.
Lisa studied dance at the Caprice Dancing School where her teachers shaped and nurtured her deep love of dance. She became a member of the Australian Youth Ballet Company experiencing her first overseas tour to perform in the UK.
Little did she know that in years to come she would be invited to dance the world, including Canada, USA, UK, Greece, Italy, Asia, Denmark and Russia.
She would have lunch with the Queen, dine with Princess Diana, dance in Nureyev’s final Australian Farewell, perform at Princess Grace’s mansion, dance under the stars at the Herod Atticus Theatre and have Australia Post produce a Lisa Bolte stamp.
