Getting here - Visit Brisbane

Getting here

Roma Street Parkland is conveniently placed beside the Roma Street train and bus stations, less than 10 minutes’ walk from the city and has a range of car parks. See the information below to work out the best way to get here.

Car parking

Parking is available at a number of locations throughout and adjacent to the parkland. This includes:

On-street metered parking

There are nearly 200 on-street car parking spaces (including 11 disabled car parking bays) within Roma Street Parkland – these spaces are located at College Close Car Park and along Parkland Boulevard. All on-street parking is managed by Brisbane City Council. For a list of prices and more information, head to their website.

Undercover parking

The closest undercover parking to Roma Street Parkland is accessed via Parkland Crescent, under the Parkland Apartments residential building. Parking fees vary during the week and weekend and can be found here. Outside of the Parkland, the nearest public undercover car park is the Brisbane Transit Centre, located at 151 Roma Street. Fees apply, though they occasionally offer special parking rates for our events. Check out our event listings to see if there are any current parking specials.

Public transport

Roma Street Parkland is accessible by both train and bus. The Roma Street Train Station and Transit Centre is located directly beside the Parkland (access is via Platform 10). The Roma Street Busway is located within the Brisbane Transit Centre. For further information about bus or train timetables, please phone TransLink on 13 12 30 or visit their official website.

Taxis and Uber

The closest taxi rank is located in the Transit Centre, though access for both them and Ubers into the parkland is still easy. Simply advise your driver to drop you off or collect you on Parkland Boulevard. They can gain entry via Wickham Terrace or Roma Street.

Coach drop-off and parking

Celebration Vista located on Parkland Boulevard, provides a set down location for coaches. Unfortunately, there is no coach parking at Roma Street Parkland at present, a 2-minute passenger drop off area is available on Parkland Boulevard. For coach parking locations, please visit Brisbane City Council’s website.

Cycling and bicycle racks

The main bikeway that can be used to access the Parkland is the Normanby Cycleway Link and ride all the way along Parkland Boulevard and then out onto Roma Street. Please note that once you’re in the Parkland, all pathways and roads are shared with pedestrians, so use caution when cycling. The only space that bicycles are not permitted is in the Spectacle Garden in Colin Campbell Place. If you’re looking to park your bike while you enjoy a stroll, and event or a picnic, bike racks can be found on Parkland Boulevard at the end of Allee Bridge, in The Hub and next to Melange Café near the Carriage Deck. Check out the Brisbane City Council bike path map to help plan your journey. There is also a cycle maintenance station on parkland Boulevard next to gate 14.
