Roma Street Parkland Health and Safety Update

In response to COVID-19, Queensland Health has advised of several directions in to ensure public safety. Full details and enforcement information can be found at Queensland Health’s website. Key impacts to Roma Street Parkland are below.
Queensland Health recently issued a new COVID-19 public health measure - gatherings in homes and in public have been increased and are now restricted to 30 people. For more information please - click here.
Events are now occurring again at Roma Street Parkland, in-line with Queensland Health’s COVIDSafe guidelines or where required an approved COVIDSafe plan. Playground and barbeques
Roma Street Parkland’s playground is currently open for use, as are its free barbeques. Please note that if you are using the playground and picnic areas, social distancing must be practiced, as well as good hygiene.
Liquor licensed areas
As per Section 173 (E) of the Liquor Act 1992, the following public areas are designated as places where liquor may be consumed between the hours of 10am and 8pm: Celebration Precinct and Lakeside Precinct.
*Please note that to consume alcohol at Roma Street Parkland, you must be 18+ and you must have food to accompany your drinks.

Please also note that the following remain closed or are not permitted at Roma Street Parkland:
- The Parkland Explorer will not operate until further notice
- Guided tours will not operate until further notice

Please note that additional changes with regards to public activity are being made regularly by the Australian Government and Queensland Health, so this page will continue to be updated over the coming weeks.
All of these changes have been made in the interests of public safety and we apologise for any inconvenience caused. The health and well-being of visitors is a priority, and Roma Street Parkland will continue to support any initiatives that have been developed to protect members of the public.
In addition to the above, Roma Street Parkland is proactively implementing daily touch-point cleaning of all toilet blocks and parent’s rooms (specially-cleaned touch-points include hand railings, door handles, taps, dispensers, switches, signage and cistern buttons) plus intensifying night-cleaning of all toilets.
