Spring has sprung in Roma Street Parkland

Within Brisbane’s buzzing CBD lies a spectacular oasis. Roma Street Parkland’s horticultural heart beats year-round but it is springtime when the gorgeous gardens really blossom.

Spectacle Garden Aerial

The picturesque parkland unfurls across 16 hectares of lush grounds in a technicolour tapestry of flowers and foliage that bursts to life each spring.

Roma Street Parkland wears its crown as Brisbane’s largest subtropical garden with pride and panache. Visitors exploring the parkland’s 28 precincts are treated to a stunning springtime display.

In bloom

One of the most visited – and photographed – precincts is the Spectacle Garden with its ornate floral displays and precision-manicured hedges.

It’s hard to believe Roma Street Parkland was once an industrial railyard. A talented team of botanists, curators, designers and gardeners work with the seasons to keep the parkland in bloom, the efforts of their hard work on full display in spring.

An intricate and impressive planting cycle is timed to bloom in September with a vibrant design radiating springtime splendour.

Pretty pink flowers blossom alongside sunny yellow annuals; purple perennials bud next to clusters of blue blooms as an array of colours streak and swirl through the ornamental garden.
