The Unmissable Entertainment at India Day Fair - Visit Brisbane

The Unmissable Entertainment at India Day Fair

Join in the festivities at Roma Street Parkland and celebrate Indian culture and independence at India Day Fair on Saturday, 17 August. From parades to dancing, music and flavoursome bites, there is an abundance of activities and delicacies on offer for everyone to enjoy.

The day will open with an enchanting hymn to bless the day, famously known as Bhajans. Following this, event goers can expect an explosion of dance, colour and fun- beginning with children’s classical dance and followed by a children’s fancy dress parade.

Majestic folk performers will take to the stage, complete in traditional striking Indian costume. Dances will include Bollywood and classical styles, both derived from the different regions of India.

Children will be in their element in the Kids’ Corner; set to include a range of interactive activities, a jumping castle, as well as face painting and henna art for all ages.

The special Show Stopper this year will be Master Saleem, a famous playback singer in Bollywood films and devotional singer. The day concludes with an explosive display of fireworks to complete festivities, lighting up the city sky.

The event will see a wealth of rich, mouth-watering culinary favourites to taste test- from sweets to savoury and more!
