What's new at The Enchanted Garden
From 4 December 2020 to 17 January 2021, be transported to a world of wonderment, as Roma Street Parkland becomes illuminated with more than 40,000 fairy lights at The Enchanted Garden lighting display.
Please note: The Enchanted Garden has been cancelled on Friday 8th, Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th January 2021 in accordance with Queensland Health directives. Impacts in relation to Roma Street Parkland in relation to these directives can be found on our Health and Safety Update page.

What is The Enchanted Garden?
From hanging crystal curtains to neon butterflies and laser gardens, The Enchanted Garden lighting design treats visitors to an evening walk unlike any other, bordered by towering trees and lush foliage, lit with the warm glow of mesmerising lights.
Once again, Celebration Lawn will offer an area of respite and refuelling, with a number of premium food truck eats available from 5pm daily (access to The Enchanted Garden ticket holders only). Or, indulge in Roma Street Parkland’s celebrated culinary offering – The Garden Room Café.
Please note that the plants are delicate at Roma Street Parkland, so visitors are asked to keep to the paths and refrain from touching the display while enjoying the event.
Opening hours and sessions - free mandatory pre-registration
Tickets to The Enchanted Garden are fully booked. There may however be cancellations, we recommend that patrons review The Enchanted Garden Eventbrite ticket page below regularly. If any tickets become available, they will be listed there to book.
Eventbrite – The Enchanted Garden dates 30 December 2020 - 17 January 2021
- Every person accessing the event must have a ticket in their name including small children and babies. There will be no tickets available at the gate.
- The Enchanted Garden is a ticketed event that is free to attend. Do not purchase tickets from anyone! Purchased tickets are likely to be fraudulent and we are unable to allow entry to the event with these tickets.
- Only The Enchanted Garden Facebook event hosted by the Roma Street Parkland Facebook page is genuine. The Enchanted Garden events hosted by any other pages on Facebook are fake, no consent has been given to create them.
This year’s newly extended program will ensure ample time to meander the Parkland’s twinkling tracks, with four 45 minute sessions taking place each night of operation**.
Session times are as follows:
6:30pm - 7:15pm
7:15pm - 8:00pm
8:00pm - 8:45pm
8:45pm - 9:30pm
** Please note The Enchanted Garden will not run on Mondays and Tuesdays, with the exception of 21 and 22 December, when the event will take place. In addition, the event will not operate over the Christmas and New Year period, 24 – 26 December and 31 December.
The Celebration Lawn Precinct and food trucks will open from 5pm daily.
The Enchanted Garden will operate in compliance with an approved COVID Safe Event Plan. To ensure public safety, several COVID Safe measures will be in place including a mandatory free pre-registration process. More information can be found on The Enchanted Garden Health and Safety page.
The Enchanted Garden is a highly subscribed event. If you have registered into an event session but can no longer attend, please release your registration so that your place can be filled. This can be done by editing your booking in Eventbrite - details of how do do this can be found on our FAQs page.
Arriving at the Event
On arrival at The Enchanted Garden please make your way to Celebration Lawn where you will be required to have your Eventbrite tickets handy for scanning. At the check in point, you may need to queue to gain entry, please follow all instructions provided by event staff and allow a 1.5 metre gap between you and others.
To ensure a quick check in process, prior to arrival, check all tickets have the correct guest names shown. At check in, you will be asked some important COVID Safe screening questions and to sanitise your hands before being permitted entry.
You will be provided with a ticket which will note your queuing time for entry to the lighting route. Event staff will then show you where the entry point of the lighting route is located.
Please allow ample time prior to your allocated session to allow for any wait times that may be experienced, and to enjoy the selection of food trucks on offer. Please remember, food trucks are only able to accept contactless payment (payment by card only, cash is not accepted).

Getting to Roma Street Parkland
Roma Street Parkland is a 10-minute walk from the CBD, and conveniently surrounded by an abundance of public transport options, with the Roma Street train and bus station located directly beside the Parkland (access is via lower ground level). There is limited car parking within Roma Street Parkland, so to avoid disappointment, it is strongly advised that public transport is utilised. Please note there will be disruptions to the rail network on 19, 20 and 27 December, please head to the Translink website for more details.
The nearest public undercover car park is at King George Square public car park, which is only a 10-minute walk from the Parkland. Please note that the coach zones on Parkland Boulevard and College Close Car Park are for drop-off and pick up only. No coach parking is permitted on site.
