What's on at Kids Collective - Roma Street Parkland

Kids Collective’s school holiday program returns to Roma Street Parkland with free activities for children aged 5-12 years from 30 June - 2 July and 7 - 9 July 2021.

Kids Collective Roma Street Parkland

The free outdoor series is set to entertain children with a range of educational and interactive activities, stimulating parts of the brain that assist in creative thinking, problem solving as well as fine and gross motor skills. 

Workshops will be split into 30-45 minute sessions, taking place at 9:00am, 10:00am, 11:00am and 12:00pm.

Wednesday 30 June

Interactive Art & Craft

Kids can join in on Roma Street Parkland's 20th Birthday Celebration by creating their own celebration crown with Bazil Grumble to take home, inspired by the natural environment within the Parkland.

Interactive Play

In this workshop by Physi Kids, children will race to see who can complete a course first, play a game of tag, kick giant soccer balls and see just how fast they can kick a football.

Thursday 1 July

Music & Dance Play

Kids will have musical fun, with drumming, dancing and singing plus The Rhythm Culture team will share real stories of their personal experience in African culture.

Nature Play

Kids can create their own nature mask or forest folk doll with Flourish Children's Collective, inspired by the beautiful Parkland. 

Friday 2 July

Circus Fun

Kids will learn some fun new hula hoop, manipulation and skipping skills with Flipside Circus, creating opportunities for creative play and performance.

Interactive Art & Craft

Kids can take home their very own Sunflower Plant using a range of colours, shapes and materials with the Design Farm! 

Wednesday 7 July

Interactive Play

In this French-themed workshop by Le Festival, kids will enjoy art, craft and an appearance from Maurice the French Bulldog mascot.

Soccer Play

Kids will experience exciting and fun soccer activities with enthusiastic and energetic coaches from Ginger Sport.

Thursday 8 July

Interactive Art & Craft

Kids can join Mabina Alaka and learn a new skill in the art of Origami and Kirigami; where they will cut and fold paper into fun creations such as dogs, bears, bunnies and more!

Interactive Dance

A fun and engaging dance workshop by Brisbane Academy of Dance to get kids moving, grooving and picking up some cool new dance moves.

Friday 9 July

Music & Dance Play

A fun and exciting workshop incorporating Torres Strait Islander music and stories as well as Aboriginal dance, with Cre8tive Nations.

Storytelling & Craft

Join Chris Collin, author of Funkybooks, in an interactive workshop featuring A Bug Called Doug as well as his brand new book Blue Whale Poo.
