What's on at Kids Collective - Roma Street Parkland
Round up the littlies! - Kids Collective returns to Roma Street Parkland with free activities for children aged 5-12 years from 18 - 22 January, Monday to Friday.
The free outdoor series is set to entertain children with a range of educational and interactive activities, stimulating parts of the brain that assist in creative thinking, problem solving as well as fine and gross motor skills.
Workshops will be split into 30-45 minute sessions, taking place at 9:00am, 10:00am, 11:00am and 12:00pm.
Please note that to ensure public safety, several COVID-Safe measures will be in place during Kids Collective. These measures are per the Queensland Government’s COVID-Safe Events Framework and Checklist and also include a required registration process, safeguarding the ability to contact trace if required and manage crowd numbers. Monday 18 January
Spin, shake and groove with Hula Hoop Brisbane! Kids will become proficient in hoola hooping as they gain tips and tricks from a professional circus performer! To attend, please register your attendance via the Eventbrite booking page.
Kids will craft their very own floral tribute to the Summer Sun. Kids will take home a Sun Catcher from this workshop that will have participants combining local flora and materials into a ready to hang triple tiered mobile. Tuesday 19 January
Standing Strong Health & Wellness is a holistic well-being workshop designed to help educate, motivate and inspire kids to live to their true potential! Using collected leaves, twigs, flowers, feathers, grass and more, children will intricately weave materials through twine to form their very own Nature Weaving creation. Interactive crafts are proven to assist in children’s development and learning as well as their gross and fine motor skills. Wednesday 20 January
Making Magic is a co-presented Author and Illustrator workshop based on their Best-Selling children's picture book Jacaranda Magic. In this 45-minute interactive workshop, children will learn about the makings of Jacaranda Magic and will be guided in making artwork to inspire their own story. During this active set of games, kids are shown the basics of soccer in a fun and friendly inflatable Soccer Field setting. Thursday 21 January
Kids will learn the techniques and important symbols when creating Aboriginal Art, as well as how to tell a story through painting. Once complete, children are welcome to take their hand painted Boomerang home. To attend, please register your attendance via the Eventbrite booking page.

Friday 22 January
Lucas’ high-energy musical performance will have kids jumping, laughing and dancing in no time. A talented storyteller, Lucas plays guitar, didgeridoo and stomp box, and he’s even been a special guest of ABC Play School! Known for his fast wit and cheeky humour, Lucas has been entertaining young audiences across Australia for the last 10 years.
