The Kids Music Beat workshop is an early learning music program for babies to children 4 years old, conducted with a music therapy focus. Having fun through musical play and taking joy in musical expression is central to the program. The facilitators will provide 3 free music sessions per day during the school holidays.
The activities will include singing along to Australian songs (with a selection of age appropriate Australian folk songs for kids), playing instruments, different stations to resemble Commonwealth Games sports, i.e ribbons for gross motor dancing and throwing (Javelin), scarves for dancing and throwing (Shot Put), hoops for coordination (Hurdles) and more!
The session will end with the children participating in the Australian Commonwealth Band - each will have a drum or shaker to play while we 'perform' and sing the National Anthem, Waltzing Matilda and a song we will compose especially for the occasion.
The program will take place at the Amphitheater Stage on the 4th, 6th, 11th and 13th of April with 3 sessions available each day at 9.00am, 9.45am and 10.30am - all 30 minute sessions. No bookings are required.
