No matter what your mood, South Bank has a destination for you – lose yourself in the tranquillity of the Parklands, grab a bite to eat on Little Stanley or Grey Streets or soak up some culture at the Cultural Precinct.

The Parklands
South Bank’s sprawling 17 hectare Parklands is known for its expansive green lawns, towering ficus trees and colourful gardens. They are also home to a variety of family-friendly experiences and activities including free swimming facilities such as Streets Beach, The Wheel of Brisbane, walking tracks, playgrounds and picnic and barbecue areas. If you’re feeling peckish, make sure you visit the Parklands’ cafés, restaurants and takeaway shops, which are located at River Quay, Stanley Street Plaza and at the Central and Arbour View Cafes.

Little Stanley Street
Little Stanley and Grey Streets
Little Stanley Street is a bustling retail and dining strip that overlooks the picturesque Parklands. With more than 30 cafes, bars and restaurants offering an array of international cuisines styles and atmospheres, Little Stanley Street is ideal for a causal meal, something more formal or anything in-between. If that’s not enough to sate your appetite, Grey Street also offers plenty of dining options, including cafes, restaurants and bars. There’s also two hotels (Mantra South Bank and Rydges South Bank) if you’d like to extend your visit, and a cinema if you’re in the mood to catch a film. 

Cultural Precinct

South Bank is home to several of Queensland’s major cultural institutions including the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art, State Library of Queensland and Queensland Museum and Sciencentre. It is also hosts plenty of events and exhibitions throughout the year at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
