It’s important to know where our food comes from – teach your kids about garden to table eating without a lengthy country road trip at South Bank’s Epicurious Garden. The garden is bursting with seasonal, organic produce that you and your kids can touch, smell and taste. Make sure you head along from 7am on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and take advantage of the free garden clippings at South Bank’s harvest cart. These can be taken home for cooking. When you’ve finished exploring the garden, wander over to Streets Beach for a dip and a yummy bite from our affordable Central Café vendors. They include Main Street Market, Subway and more.
Arts and craft
Get some fresh air and sunshine by heading to Kids Collective’s free children’s activities, on every Thursday from 9am-1pm in the South Bank Parklands. Activities change weekly and range from sport and music classes to science workshops and all those in-between. Parents can get involved in the activities or relax on the Parkland’s soft lawns with a coffee while the kids get stuck in. Head to the Kids Collective event page for full details. Once you’ve had your fill of the class, follow up with a stroll through the Parklands to QAGOMA to check out their latest free exhibit and kid’s activation.
