Cheap eats for families at South Bank

Feeding a family can be costly, unless you know where to look. Next time you want to take your brood out, save some cash with these cheap (yet yummy!) eats at South Bank.

Bamboo Basket
Yum cha at Bamboo Basket. Save some coin and dine out for lunch instead of dinner – Bamboo Basket offers up lunch-time dumplings, spring rolls, pancakes and more for less than $10 a plate.

German sausage at Pig and Kraut. All of the sausages at Pig and Kraut are made from locally sourced ingredients, and are served in freshly baked bread. Not bad for $10 a serve!

Curry and rice at East Xpress. Enjoy a creamy beef, chicken or pork curry with plenty of rice for just $10.

Denim Co
Homestyle jaffles at Denim Co. Lasagne flavour, Hawaiian, smoked bacon with cheese and egg, classic ham and cheese, Vegemite and cheese, or baked bean, caramelised onion and cheese - take your pick! They’re all $9 or less at Denim Co.

Sandwiches at Cosmos. If you want to keep it simple, grab a couple of sandwiches from Cosmos and share them with the family – they’re all $10 or less.

Chocolate pizza at Max Brenner. It might not sound like much, but this chocolate pizza is perfect for sharing, making it a super affordable option. At less than $20 a pop, it’s coated in lashings of chocolate, bananas, pecans and marshmallows.

My Sweetopia
Cupcakes at My Sweetopia. Indulge your sweet tooth with a moist cupcake, coated in a tower of buttercream. They’re $5 or less.

Yiros at Zeus. A meagre $10.50 at Zeus will get you a mighty-filling yiros stuffed with haloumi, pork or chicken and plenty of salad.

Roast chicken at Nando's. Pick up one of Nando’s famous cooked chooks for $20 and share it with the family – yum! 

Hot chips at Fins and Feathers. Fins and Feathers’ fare is fast, fresh and affordable. Grab a cup of hot chips, battered fish and plenty of other palate-pleasing items for under $10.
