Christmas at South Bank
Celebrate the festive season at South Bank Parklands from 18 to 23 December, with a magical Christmas atmosphere and lineup of joyful entertainment offering a special experience for the whole family!
Twinkling Christmas lights will weave throughout the Parklands from South Bank Piazza to River Quay, with six days of live music, kids activities and our favourite riverside Christmas Cinema presented by eatSouthBank.
The South Bank Christmas Show, South Bank Piazza
Prepare for a nostalgic celebration of Christmas magic with this diverse variety show perfect for the whole family, running nightly at South Bank Piazza at 6:30pm and 8pm.
The South Bank Christmas Show tells the tale of Teddy and his toy friends - a cast of colourful characters uniting for a wild adventure combining live music, singing, dancing, circus and Santa. Tickets can be purchased via the Oztix website. Tickets start at $6 per person, with family deals available. Please note, it’s recommended that you book tickets in advance via Oztix to avoid disappointment.

Christmas Cinema presented by eatSouthBank, River Quay Green
Enjoy free Christmas films and family favourites as the sun sets over South Bank. Two films will screen nightly at our riverside cinema, with a family-friendly movie playing at 6:15 pm and a flick for the older folks at 8pm. View the program below:

Festive Beats presented by eatSouthBank, Little Stanley Street Lawns and River Quay Green
Our pop-up stages will play host to a fantastic array of local artists from 4pm to 10pm, providing the perfect backdrop to a festive picnic or takeaway treat from the Little Stanley Street and River Quay retailers.
Santa’s Stopover, Flowstate Pavilion
Snap a special festive photo with Santa and Mrs Claus between 4pm and 9:30pm. Please note that visitors will be required to take their own socially distanced photos.
While it's free to visit Santa's Stopover, tickets must be obtained to manage demand - tickets are available from an hour prior to each session, from the booth at Flowstate.
Kid’s Craft and Storytelling, Flowstate Lawns
Across from Santa's Stopover on the Flowstate Lawns, our Christmas craft and storytelling station is guaranteed to get the kids involved and their creative juices flowing with sessions scheduled between 4pm and 9:30pm.
Kids can make their own take-home Christmas koala instrument before enjoying a Christmas storybook and carols session with Santa's elves.
While it's free to visit Kids Craft and Storytelling, tickets must be obtained to manage demand - tickets are available from an hour prior to each session, from the booth at Flowstate.

Getting to South Bank Parklands
South Bank Parklands' underground car park offers more than 800 spaces (including eight disabled bays) with stair and lift accessibility from its north and south entrances.
The car park is located at Little Stanley Street, South Bank. Entry is via Tribune or Glenelg Street, and spaces can be pre-booked online.
South Bank Parklands is also accessible by numerous bus, train and ferry options and is a pleasant walk from the CBD via the Victoria Bridge.
COVID Safe measures will be in place during Christmas at South Bank, including use of the Check In QLD app for all free events. Please consider supporting local South Bank businesses and dining at a local eatery while enjoying the festive entertainment!
