5 totally free, totally blissful experiences

Weekday or weekend, day or night, there are so many free and utterly delightful things to see and do at South Bank that you just have to experience.

A walk along the promenade

South Bank Parklands stretches along the Brisbane River for over a kilometre, and a walk along the Clem Jones Promenade is the perfect way to experience it. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the promenade and take in the sparkling views of the city, watch the CityCats cruise by, and get a closer look at all that South Bank has to offer including the magnificent Wheel of Brisbane, the exquisite Nepalese Pagoda, the magical Rainforest Walk, and the ever-popular Streets Beach.

Epicurious Garden

On your walk along the promenade you may also stumble across the little patch of edible delight at the Epicurious Garden. This specially designed ornamental garden is filled with fruits, vegetables and herbs which are all seasonal, organic and carefully selected by horticulture experts to suit Queensland’s climate. Stop in to discover what fresh produce looks, feels and smells like, talk to the dedicated volunteer gardeners to learn about inner-city gardening, and on harvest days you can even take away a sample of the produce.
