Mark the first day of winter with a chilled afternoon of good tunes, food and drinks at South Bank’s Rainforest Green. Soak up the free live performances by local artists, and treat yourself to some excellent hospitality delivered by The Plough Inn and Paper Fish. Kids under 18 are welcome but must be accompanied by a guardian. 

LUMINOUS Lantern Parade

7 June 

On sunset, see the night sky illuminated by the glow of more than 400 colourful lanterns, many made by schools and community groups from across Brisbane. The parade of lanterns will make its way from South Bank’s Cultural Forecourt to the Queensland Performing Arts Centre. Celebrating the richness of Queensland’s multicultural community, the Parade will culminate in a free concert of world music and dance.

Immerse yourself in a winter wonderland in the heart of South Bank. Get ready for snow tobogganing, snowball throwing, snowman making and more when hundreds of tons of fresh, real snow floods the South Bank Piazza. Pull out your warm winter coats and hats from the back of the closet and prepare for a blast of winter fun! 

Le Festival 2019

5 – 7 July  

Dreaming of a weekend in Paris? Well from 5 – 7 July, Le Festival presented by Le Cordon Bleu will deliver the flavours, sights and sounds of France at South Bank’s Cultural Forecourt, all minus the jetlag! Warm up with a bowl of French onion soup as you sip on French champagne and stroll the produce markets—bon appétit!
