Pre-show dining at South Bank
If you’re heading to QPAC to see a show, or the Queensland Museum or GOMA for a special "up late" event, or even to BCEC for a concert, there are some fantastic pre-show dinner options on offer at South Bank to suit every taste.

Just behind QPAC and underneath BCEC on Grey St is Embers restaurant within James Squire Brewhouse - The Charming Squire. Offering a menu centred around the custom-made wood-fired grill and rotisserie. Embers caters to the pre-show crowd with a special set menu featuring a shared entrée and a choice of main plus dessert as an optional extra to ensure no rumbling tummies during the show.
Located in Fish Lane, this modern Vietnamese restaurant serves an array of bites and wines suitable for pre-show eats. Banquet options are available with sizes to suit differing timeframes and appetites.
QPAC’s signature restaurant, Lyrebird offers a contemporary menu featuring the finest quality produce. Choose ala carte or select two or three course options which include a glass of wine.
For a more casual pre-show meal, head directly across the path to QPAC’s Bistro. Opening hours are prior to performances, exceptions apply.

Despite the name, this is not just a pizzeria. There is a great range of pizzas, but if you feel like something lighter, or more hearty, there’s a wonderful selection of traditional Italian antipasti, primi, secondi and dolci (dessert). And the kitchen stays open from lunch until late, so you will not have an issue trying to get an early dinner.
A great spot for a bite before your matinee or evening show, Champ is located beneath the ABC building in a peaceful setting, with a view of the Wheel of Brisbane and South Bank Parklands. Pre-show drinks packages are available to complement your meal.
