South Bank’s most scenic spots
Part bustling beach spot, part foodie haven, part lush parklands; South Bank is the perfect place to relax. Here’s our round up of the precinct’s most scenic spots.
Australia’s only inner-city man-made beach gets a work out in summer and with good reason – not only is it free to swim in, it also has stunning views of Brisbane’s CBD. A cool dip in Streets Beach’s clear waters will leave you feeling refreshed and extremely relaxed.
This stunning space only opened in 2011, but already it’s become one of South Bank’s most popular destinations. Visitors can relax with a book on River Quay’s soft green lawns, grab a bite to eat at one of its five-star restaurants or pop by for a spot of live music on Sunday afternoons.
Clem Jones Promenade
Moving about in the heat can be hard, but not when you’re on the Clem Jones Promenade. South Bank locals flock to this gorgeous spot for walking, cycling or just kicking back and taking in the scenic city views and the gentle river breezes.
Stanley Street Plaza
With its cobble-stoned paving, dazzling fairy lights and bustling cafes, Stanley Street Plaza is a truly magical place. Our tip is to head there when you're hungry - it's bursting with yummy restaurants!
You don’t have to be a green thumb to enjoy the Epicurious Garden. Bursting with fragrant herbs, exotic fruits and the sweet songs of local birds, the Epicurious Garden is easily one of the most relaxing places to visit in Brisbane. Visitors to the space can learn about seasonal produce, pick up expert gardening tips and check out fun and easy recipes. Head here for more information.
