What's in store at the new Southpoint precinct
There is new life being breathed into the southern end of Grey St at South Bank with construction of the Southpoint precinct well underway. As this new development moves skyward, we take a look at what to expect when it’s completed in 2017.

The $600 million mixed-use development will comprise three multi-storey buildings including a commercial tower, which will become home to Flight Centre’s Global Head Office, a residential tower featuring luxury 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments, and the new 21-storey Emporium Hotel, which is set to match or even outshine the original boutique hotel in Fortitude Valley.
The hotel will feature South Bank’s newest rooftop bar, which will be open to the public and positioned on the pool deck with uninterrupted views over the city and river.

The precinct will also be a new retail, dining and leisure hub with the inclusion of a Woolworths supermarket, boutique shopping, and a range of restaurants, bars and eateries, as well as Belle Époque Patisserie and Emporium Hotel bars and restaurants.

The South Bank rail station will be getting a major upgrade too, including a newsstand, ticketing office, sheltered passenger waiting areas and a retail concourse.
The historic and iconic Collins Place building, which was used as a destination restaurant during World Expo 88, will be receiving a great deal of attention too with a full restoration and refurbishment, as well as being raised to form part of the new Southpoint entry statement.
