What's on at Brisbane Festival at South Bank
Brisbane’s iconic arts festival is returning to South Bank and the City, igniting precincts and surrounding suburbs with its celebrated installations and pop up events.
South Bank Parklands - the beating heart of the festival, will once again host a bold and unique program, set to captivate audiences with emotive, thought-provoking performances and entertainment.
Watch upon an assembly of skilled dancers from the Australasian Dance Collective as they perform an emotive and immersive public dance piece against the City Skyline at South Bank’s iconic River Quay. Arc, is a world premiere and a bespoke creation for Brisbane Festival that reflects the societal journey of isolation to reconnection. This performance was created by Artistic Director, Amy Hollingsworth with music by award-winning composer, Wil Hughes.
Annea Lockwoord and Bob Bielecki bring a multi-channel outdoor installation of inaudible vibrations and sounds to South Bank’s tranquil Rainforest Walk. Stroll through canapes of hanging greenery while experience sounds beyond the audio perception.
Soak up classical masterpieces and contemporary jams performed by a quintet from Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra on South Bank’s sprawling green. Pack a picnic and set up camp for the afternoon, amid the ambience of the Parkland’s Rainforest.
Don your best disco outfit and dance the night away at a free socially distanced dance club brought to you by Common People Dance Project.
Dive into the 70’s noughties and now, with a selection of curated era- inspired compositions, paired with iconic dance moves. There will be games, challenges, twerking and shuffling!
