Winter warmers at South Bank restaurants

With the colder weather setting in, now is the perfect opportunity to check out some of the delicious and hearty winter warmers being served up at some of South Bank’s amazing restaurants and cafes. Rug up and head out to an old favourite, or try somewhere new and discover a tasty winter treat.

Barbossa Dish

Overlooking the parklands on Little Stanley St, turn up the heat and channel tropical, toasty weather with Caribbean-inspired dishes at Barbossa. Get spicy with jerk chicken served on coconut rice, pineapple sauce and habanero hot sauce.

Next Door

Nothing beats a good stew with veges in winter. At Next Door on Little Stanley St, devour a beef bourguignon with beef, mashed potato, root vegetables and beans.

Tippler’s Tap

Shake off the cold with one of two chili dishes from Tippler's Tap on Grey St. Meat-eaters can enjoy Grandma Kennedy's beef chili or there’s a vegetarian version made from vegan cheese, sour cream and chives served with rye bread.

Munich Brauhaus

With no less than six different schnitzel options on the menu to fill you up, Munich Brauhaus is a worthwhile winter haunt in Stanley Street Plaza. Be it classic veal or chicken parmigiana that takes your fancy, or maybe even the giant pork schnitzel. Add a side of fries, potato salad or mash to cover off the carbs.

The Charming Squire Dish

The Charming Squire

Tucked underneath BCEC on Grey St, The Charming Squire serves wood-fired, coal pit cooked meat dishes and other hearty gourmet meals to keep you nice and toasty.

Bamboo Basket

Warm up your insides with freshly made soups from Bamboo Basket, located on Grey St. Flavours include chicken and sweet corn, pork wonton, prawn wonton and Shanghai style spicy and sour soup with pork.

Mister Paganini

A wood-fired pizza oven is positioned in the heart of Mister Paganini on Little Stanley St, making it the perfect place to escape to on a cold winter’s day. As well as pizza, there’s comforting pasta dishes available such as bolognese, carbonara, risotto and gnocchi.
