South Bank Parklands Guided Tours
Discover the sights and stories of South Bank Parklands on a free 90-minute guided tour.
A green jewel in the heart of Brisbane, South Bank Parklands boasts spectacular riverfront views, sprawling lawns, a blossoming arbour, and a host of free activities throughout the year.
South Bank Parklands will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2022. To mark the occasion, free South Bank Guided Tours are now available for everyone to enjoy.
Experience the rich history and culture of South Bank; and discover how the former industrial site became the iconic green space it is today.
You will hear fascinating behind-the-scenes stories about the parkland's design and evolution from your guide as you wander through picturesque pathways. Discover how the parkland was transformed and reminisce about World Expo 88' and the 2011 floods, as well as visiting iconic landmarks of South Bank Parklands.
The South Bank Guided Tours will be conducted by friendly, knowledgeable volunteers daily at 10am from the Visitor Information Centre located in Stanley Street Plaza (next to Max Brenner).
Tours are free however pre-registration is required to attend. Please visit the South Bank Parklands Eventbrite page for more tour information and to make a booking (scroll down the Eventbrite page to see the tours).
This guided tour travels on a route with some steps and slight inclines. Please advise your guide if you would prefer a route that is step free.
The tour is 90 minutes in duration and the walking distance is 2.5 km approximately.

Please wear a hat, sunscreen and bring a water bottle. Water stations are located throughout the parklands.
When visiting South Bank Parklands, please make sure you observe the guidelines set out by Queensland Health and do not attend if any of the below are applicable:
• you or a member of your group are displaying COVID-19 symptoms - these include a cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue, or shortness of breath, and feeling unwell.
• you or a member of your group has tested positive for COVID-19.
• you or a member of your group have been directed to self-isolate or self-quarantine by Queensland Health.
