Tell us a bit about Tip n’ The Scales?
We’re an ensemble from the Queensland Conservatorium. We all have different backgrounds; some have many years of performance experience, while others are fresh on the scene.
Band members include, Tip Mosese: Vocals, James McIntyre: Guitar, Kate Gillespie: Bass, Tash Robbins & Sam Morgan: Drums, Zane Neal & Gianluca Politi: Keyboard, Jeremy Sandroussi: Vibraphone, Jamie Seeto: Percussion.
How would you describe your music?
A fusion of contemporary funk, R&B, and jazz.
What’s Brisbane’s jazz scene like?
Brisbane has a vibrant and eclectic music scene, the jazz scene is a small one but it’s growing at a very fast pace and it’s very exciting to see a lot of great emerging artists coming out of Brisbane.
Where do you see live music?
There’s lots of great places to see live music from The Jazz Club, to The Black Bear Lodge, Jazz Upstairs, Triffid, Brooklyn Standard and more, it depends on what you feel like.
Who are some of your favourite local bands/musicians?
I am a big fan of the local band Inigo. I really like their stuff I think it’s fresh and cool. You should definitely check them out if you get a chance. I also really like singer Mark Lowndes.
