Best burgers in Brisbane City

Red Hook

Brisbane locals can't stay away from this laneway gem. It can be a little difficult to find but when you do, it’s definitely worth it. Chomp into the popular Shaolin Chicken Burger, Brooklyn Cheeseburger or highly favoured Uptown Funk Burger with beef, Swiss and American cheddar, gorgonzola, caramelised onions and bacon. Kick back in the laneway and order a cocktail or beer if the day calls for it.

Chur Burger Express

The Chur Beast is not for the faint-hearted with double beef, double bacon and double cheese but it’s definitely a standout on the menu (did we mention double bacon? Yep!). If you’re not ready for a burger of this size, then the pulled pork burger is the next favourite go-to on the menu. For the ultimate combo, order a side of chilli salt fries and wash it all down with a milkshake.

Santa Monica

Can they live up to the Cali name? The extensive menu certainly does with classic cheeseburgers, a chilli cheeseburger for spice fanatics and the signature Santa Monica burger with pineapple (controversial, but we're for it!) and tasty bacon bits.

MoMo Chicken

Step right up for the tastiest chicken burger around. As the name hints to, MoMo Chicken specialises in Korean-style fried chicken. Choose form the Momo Special, crispy chicken or grilled chicken burger and pair it with an icy cold beer, of course.

Buffalo Bar

Buffalo Bar Hoagie

This joint’s calling card may be buffalo wings, but they also nail American-style burgers. You'll find a classic cheeseburger, pulled pork burger, buffalo fried chicken burger and a vegetarian burger that many a carnivore has succumbed to, the breaded camembert burger.

By Brittany Mohr

Brittany’s ultimate weekend involves wine (rosé) and cheese (manchego) at La Lune, seeing a live show and going for a wander along the Brisbane River. Passionate about the leafy Western suburbs, she’s a lady of fine tastes so naturally her best kept secret is #treatingyo'self to a session at luxe day spa One Wybelenna. Bliss.
